Artist Wally Dion visits Scott

The students enrolled in the Visual Arts program at Scott Collegiate, were lucky enough to attend a tour of the Wally Dion exhibit at the Mackenzie art gallery.  There students had a chance to look at and discuss some of Wally Dion’s work from his Red Worker series as well as three pieces from his circuit board series.  Students were floored by the work and dedication put into Dion’s art, and was inspired by his subject matter.

Days after the tour, Wally Dion visited the school which gave the students a chance to ask him questions and talk about his work with him in person.  In collaboration with Wendy Winter from the Mackenzie Art Gallery, Dion introduced a fantastic project which had students working with circuit board images and placing them within a composition.
